Two Months Down

For those of you keeping track, I would have been at the Pole for two months tomorrow. A year ago it would have half through my contract. This year it is one-sixth of my adventure. Here is a quick break down:

In a little over 86 thousand minutes I'll be leaving. My how time flies... err not so much.

Famous like a Rock Star.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to be a famous for a about 5 seconds. The South Pole Info Tech department (lovingly known as SPIT) was supporting the CERN Labs "Beyond Einstein" webcast for 12 hours. It is basically about the future of physics. So if your into neutrino's and muons this was your LIVE8. We had lots of problems with our first segment with the ICECube staff. We could not hear the announcers except through the webcast (about 20 seconds in delay). We got it sorted out in the second presentation from the guys in BICEP. That went so smoothly that I went outside and waved from the Geographic Pole. So I was seen by at least 12 science geeks from around the world. I was seen in the " The three top mysteries left over by Einstein" segment if anyone was watching.

That's about it from here. This conference has me on a bad sleeping schedule again so I am writing at 3:45a. Might as well go do some laundry. One last thing, here is what I was doing on Thanksgiving...
