Rest Easy

I was really concerned about the ability of the station to defend itself from the other denizens of the Antarctic. You know the Nazi's, giant dinosaurs from the center of the Earth, the might army of Atlantis and of the pesky alien invasion that Polies have to fight off every winter. Well thankfully we found our misplaced crate out on the berms. I can finally sleep at night.

Patrick,
We all know that the aliens can read English and have access to MAPCON, so when they found the box they replaced the fuel in the flamethrowers with shaving cream... :)

Hi Patrick...here in Longmont we celebrated St. Patricks day up in Jamestown "Merc". Are you getting any middle of "your nite" phone calls?
It is simply amazing a local number at your bedside.
I ran many phone patches during winter over a while back. Gary Rosenberger at KC4AAA used me back in Boulder W0PBK. We were able to communicate almost every Wednesday but had a 50% patch completion because of radio conditions.
Do you folks still have a 300 club?

Michael, I do get the occasional call. I got one from a phone solicator at 4:40a the other day. I was not pleased.

We still have the 300 club and they hand out patches for doing it. It is -85F now so the 300 club is right around the corner.

We also have a new HAM shack in the station so you will probably start to see some activity from that pretty soon.

Excellent excellent excellent!

I was too afraid to ask Neal how he was coping with his Nazi neighbours in case he was tired of such nonsense.

Does anyone own the South Pole? If not, could you claim a bit for me please. Just a small plot will do - enough space for a shed.

Thanks.

p.s. You haven't seen John-Lee Hooker around there have you? They say he died but you never know.

Crystal... There are many chessy plastic things at Amundsen-Scott Station, A G.I. Joe Aircraft Carrier is not one. Someone is going to have to have Archie McPhee send some down to us.
